Easy Opening Napkins are a South American First
Easy Opening Napkins are a South American First Leading Brazilian paper products manufacturer, Melhoramentos Papéis has extended its use of Payne's Supastrip tear tape across its whole range of napkins, paper towels and toilet rolls, in order to enhance consumer convenience and brand image.

Melhoramentos Papéis was the first South American company in this sector to use tear tape, initially on small packs of kitchen napkins. The company has since extended the use of Supastrip across the entire napkin product range.

Payne has worked closely with Melhoramentos Papéis to ensure an effective transition to the widespread use of tear tape. Four dedicated tear tape dispensing system have been installed, all retrofitted to the existing wrapping machine to maintain the smooth running of its production lines.

Melhoramentos Papéis selected Supastrip for its proven benefits of consumer convenience and easy-opening. In addition, the pressure-sensitive adhesion gives excellent distortion-free bonding, which enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the pack to reflect brand image and value.

Surveys of consumers indicate they are becoming increasingly aware of the link between convenience and product value, tear tape fulfils the need for strong brand differentiation. Those surveys also shows that if consumers have difficulty opening the packages, the perception of brand image can have a negative effect, thus the use of Supastrip not only ensures easy access, but adds a final touch of quality consistent with the image of the product.

Payne is the world market leader in the manufacture of tear tapes. Its production facility in Brazil is one of six global locations which, along with the company's sales support offices, provide an international presence combined with a localised service.
